Job summary

Pecos National Historical Park in New Mexico seeks a Field Unit Local Masonry Worker. You will assist in maintenance, repair and restoration of structures made of adobe, stone and block, supporting preservation of historic resources.

This career-seasonal position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends and overtime as needed, with the expectation of about 11 1/2 months of duties and non-pay status in January, while ensuring work quality matches original designs.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, repair, and restoration of adobe/stone masonry.
• Ability to prepare mixes and mortars per specifications.
• Capable of minor related trades (painting, carpentry, electrical) when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance, repair and restoration of adobe, stone and block structures.
• Prepare test mixes and mortars per specifications and preservation records.
• Remove damaged portions and repair to closely match original design.
• Load/unload materials and operate basic masonry tools; assist other trades as needed.
