Job summary

Qualifications

• US citizenship requirement as per VA policy
• Education: bachelor or higher in health sciences or related field
• HTL certification by ASCP required or eligible
• One year of histopathology experience or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepares and processes surgically removed tissue and body fluids for slide preparation, staining, and microscopic diagnosis
• Performs gross examinations and tissue embedding/processing
• Maintains histology equipment and documents maintenance
• Ensures proper labeling, accessioning, and chain of custody of specimens
