Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Histology/IHC Lab Technician to join the team. You will perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping, and quality checks while supporting IHC, special stains, and digital pathology initiatives.

The role offers collaboration with pathologists and lab staff across a wide range of cases in a high-standard diagnostic setting. A High School diploma and ASCP HT/HTL certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently certified as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the ASCP required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping, and quality checks.
• Support IHC, special stains, and digital pathology initiatives.
• Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff on routine and complex cases.
