Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a detail‑driven Histology Technician to join our IHC lab team in Birmingham. You will perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping and quality checks, while supporting IHC, special stains and digital pathology initiatives.

Work alongside pathologists and lab staff on a range of routine and complex cases, with opportunities to grow in a high‑standard diagnostic setting and access robust educational programs and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently certified as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping and quality checks.
• Support IHC, special stains, and digital pathology initiatives.
• Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff across routine and complex cases.
