Physicians Regional Medical Center - Pine Ridge in Naples, FL is seeking a Histology Technologist for a part-time position. You will prepare tissue specimens, embed, section, and stain using routine, special, and immunohistochemical techniques under the supervision of pathologists.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining histology equipment, performing special stains, reviewing slides, entering data in LIS, and ensuring quality control, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Science, or related field required for HTL certification
• Completion of an accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnologist program preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in a clinical histology laboratory preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares and processes tissue specimens by embedding, sectioning, and staining
• Operates and maintains histology equipment
• Performs special stains and immunohistochemical testing
• Reviews stained slides and controls for accuracy; adjusts procedures as needed
• Performs data entry and labeling using the LIS
• Follows laboratory protocols and maintains documentation for quality and regulatory compliance
• Maintains inventory, orders supplies, and handles disposal of specimens and waste
• Supports accreditation standards and participates in quality improvement activities
• Adheres to safety protocols and infection control in the lab
• Performs other duties as assigned
