Qualifications

• Licensed by the State of Florida (or eligible) in appropriate specialties - national certification preferred
• Commensurate with licensure requirements
• From zero to two years experience as a hospital based histotechnologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine histology: cassetting, embedding, microtomy and H&E staining.
• Perform quality control and document deviations.
• Organize workflow to meet departmental workload targets.
• Perform special stains and immunohistochemical stains.
• Perform frozen sections with turnaround time goals.
• Maintain inventory of reagents and supplies.
• Follow lab safety and waste disposal protocols.
• Assist co-workers and adapt shift hours as needed.
