Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Science, or related field required to qualify for HTL certification.
• Completion of an accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnologist program preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in a clinical histology laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Embeds, sections, and stains tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
• Operates and maintains histology equipment and instruments.
• Performs special stains and immunohistochemical testing as required for diagnostic purposes.
• Reviews stained slides and controls for accuracy and quality; adjusts procedures as needed.
• Performs data entry and labeling using the LIS.
• Maintains inventory, orders supplies, and ensures proper disposal of specimens and waste.
• Adheres to safety protocols and infection control in the laboratory environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
