Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related discipline, or equivalent education, training and certification in histology strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs histotechnologist duties for a specific area or rotates in all sections as needed.
• Prepares tissue samples by processing, embedding, sectioning, mounting, staining and coverslipping using standard procedures.
• Maintains equipment, work area, and records; ensures quality control and inventory of supplies.
• Attends in-services and stays current with new methods and improvements in histology.
