Job summary

Natera is seeking a histology-focused technician for the tissue whole exome sequencing lab in California. The role involves preparing tissues, slides, and troubleshooting, with opportunities to train others and participate in validations and SOP updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in histology or a related science with appropriate biology/chemistry coursework and histology experience/training
• 2+ years of related histology experience
• HIPAA/PHI privacy, general policies and security training to be completed within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform histological preparations for the tissue whole exome sequencing laboratory with high accuracy
• Prepare tissues and stained slides, microdissection, and support workflow tasks
• Independently perform testing and reagent/equipment preparation after training
• Participate in validations and reagent qualifications
• Ensure cases meet department TAT goals and investigate processing issues
• Provide oversight and guidance to staff; train new team members
• Collaborate with Engineering, Biodev, Stats to resolve issues and streamline processes
