Job summary

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a Histology Technician to process and prepare tissue specimens for analysis. You will accession specimens, perform embedding, staining, and quality control while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Required High School diploma or GED with strong English communication and lab safety knowledge. An Associate’s degree is preferred, with familiarity in MS Office and histology equipment to support pathology workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv is required.
• Associate’s degree preferred for advancement.
• Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and lab safety procedures.
• Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Registers, orders, and accession pathology specimens into computer systems.
• Performs specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover slipping.
• Prepares specimens for research requests and transports specimens per regulations.
• Assists pathologists with frozen sections and cytology preparations when needed.
