Job summary

Community Health Network in Anderson, IN seeks a Histology Technician to gross and prepare tissues and biopsy specimens for histology and to prepare slides for pathologist review. The role requires 3+ years of histology experience and ASCP HT certification eligibility, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

Shifts are daytime, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a focus on delivering high-quality specimens and collaborative patient care.

Qualifications

Associate degree with biology and chemistry credits (required).
Eligible for HT(ASCP) certification and 60 college credits to perform grossing per CLIA.
Detail oriented with high standards.
Good attendance and punctuality.
Customer-service oriented to provide exceptional patient experience.
Able to work with others and in team-based environment.
Able to differentiate dermatology tissues for embedding, cryotomy, and microtomy.
HIPPA compliant; knowledge of CLIA/CAP standards.
Strong written and oral communication; handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

Gross and prepare tissues and biopsy specimens for histology processing.
Prepare surgical slides for review by the Pathologist.
Maintain high professional standards consistent with medical laboratory practices.
Participate in histology procedures including grossing, processing, cryotomy, microtomy, and staining.
