Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Histotechnician in Richland, WA, with a Sunday-Thursday 10:00 pm to 6:30 am shift. Responsibilities include processing tissue samples, sectioning with a microtome, and performing immunohistochemistry on FFPE specimens.

Overtime and rotating weekends may be required. Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology; 3+ months of histology and IHC experience is preferred; ASCP certification or a bachelor’s degree is a

Qualifications

• Associate degree as required for the histology technologist role.
• 3 months or more Histology experience preferred.
• 3 months or more Immunohistochemistry experience preferred.
• Histology and/or ASCP certifications preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination.
• Prepare stains and reagents for procedures and run stains.
• Section embedded tissue with a microtome and mount slides.
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on tissue sections.
• Operate and maintain histology instruments and document maintenance.
• Follow QC procedures and document test results and issues.
• Ensure accurate reporting to support patient care.
