Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a Histology Technician to prepare surgical and autopsy specimens for diagnosis and assist in complex histological procedures. The role requires knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and SOPs, with on-call duties as needed.

The candidate should have an associate degree in a lab science and 1–2 years in histology or clinical data handling, with proficiency in laboratory information systems and barcoding processes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or equivalent.
• One year of processing/embedding/microtomy in Histopathology, or two years in a clinical setting with data handling.
• Ability to read, interpret scientific materials and perform basic quantitative tasks.
• Familiarity with SOPs and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical and autopsy specimens for clinical diagnosis.
• Assist pathologist in examinations and histological procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of anatomy, pathology and medical terminology.
• Identify, prepare and process tissue specimens per SOPs.
• Perform barcoding and participate in on-call duties as needed.
• Contribute to quality control and improvement initiatives.

Education

Associate's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or equivalent education

One year experience in processing/embedding/microtomy in Histopathology

Two years in clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling
