Job summary

Medical Pathology Associates in Houston, TX, seeks a Night Shift Histology Technician to produce diagnostic materials for pathologists. You will gross, process, embed, and prepare H&E slides, perform special stains, and assist with IHC either in-house or via reference labs.

The role requires a high school diploma (associate or bachelor’s in related science preferred), NAACLS-trained histotechnician or HT/HTL registration, and strong familiarity with LIS and lab safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related science degree preferred.
• NAACLS-accredited Histotechnician/Histotechnologist program or related credits recommended.
• HT or HTL registration preferred; strong safety practices required.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality diagnostic materials for pathologist review.
• Perform grossing, processing, embedding and routine H&E slides.
• Conduct special stains, recuts, deepers, and additional slide presentations.
• Perform IHC in-house or through affiliated reference labs.
• Support send-out, reference, or related laboratory work.
• Maintain quality control and document processes in LIS and other records.
