Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates or Bachelors in related field preferred; NAACLS Histotechnician/Histotechnologist program or 60 sem hrs with biology/chemistry.
• HT or HTL registration required; HT/HTL preferred (QIHC)

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality diagnostic materials as requested by the pathologist.
• Support send-out, reference or related work.
• Perform quality control and document processes in LIS.
• Clean and maintain instrumentation, work spaces, and archived materials.
• Adhere to bloodborne pathogen safety methods and use PPE.
• Operate LIS and basic computing programs to manage workflow and document issues.
• May be trained to perform gross dissection with appropriate credentials.
