Altasciences in the United States is seeking a Pathology Associate to provide high quality processing of pathological specimens, including gross examinations, necropsies, tissue trimming and processing in line with SOPs. The role requires attention to detail, basic biology knowledge and accuracy in data entry, with training on core SOPs and opportunities to advance within the pathology team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; associates or high school diploma acceptable with relevant experience.
• Biological science background required or at least 6 months in a lab.
• Working knowledge of biology and anatomy essential.

Responsabilités

• Train and become fluent on core SOPs for necropsy, organ weighing, bone marrow smear prep, and tissue trimming.
• Use of an Electronic Data Capture System (EDCS), heat sealing and archiving.
• Quality check review; train to become Lead Study Technician.
• Review protocols for correctness in pre-necropsy and departmental meetings.
• Complete study setup.
• Maintain necropsy suites and other pathology lab areas.
• Maintain instruments and equipment.
• Maintain facility records.
• Assist with chemical management and stock.
• Assist with waste management, ordering and stocking.
• Specialized necropsies and tissue trimming per protocols.
