Job summary

Paycom seeks a Histotechnician II to perform embedding, microtomy, staining and filing in the histology lab. Tasks include preparing reagents, maintaining accurate logs, and distributing slides to pathologists in a compliant, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in science required for Histology Technicians performing gross examination or higher complexity testing.
• Education and training to support CLIA 88 requirements for testing personnel as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Embed, cut, and stain tissue according to designated procedures.
• Perform routine and specialized histology tissue, slide prep and staining procedures.
• Complete assigned workload within prescribed time.
• Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining.
• Maintain legible, accurate logs and records of testing.
• Distribute slides to pathologists.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Troubleshoot procedures and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, safety and QA standards.
