Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a detail-oriented Histology Technician to perform routine and specialized histology techniques in a high-volume laboratory setting. The role involves tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, IHC, and grossing of GI biopsies, reporting to the Lab Manager with oversight from the Lead Histology Technologist.

Shifts available include Mid-Shift (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM) and Night Shift (9:00 PM – 5:30 AM).

Qualifications

• Meets CLIA high- complexity testing requirements via associate degree in a laboratory science or MLT.
• ASCP HT/HTL/MLT certification or equivalent CLIA-experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on Histology Technician experience.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and laboratory safety practices is expected.

Responsibilities

• Gross GI biopsy specimens by describing, measuring, and inking tissue according to protocols.
• Orient and embed tissue specimens to preserve cellular structures.
• Section tissue blocks via microtomy to produce diagnostic slides.
• Perform routine, special, and IHC staining procedures per protocol.
• Complete QC/QA documentation and operate lab instrumentation.
• File and securely organize tissue blocks and slides; maintain equipment.
• Comply with HIPAA, regulatory standards, and waste disposal practices.
• Manage shift workload, monitor supplies, and support onboarding new staff.
