Job summary

Adena Health System is seeking a Histology Technician to support the Pathology department with tissue preparation and staining for microscopic analysis. The role reports to the Histology Team Lead and emphasizes accuracy, adherence to protocols, and handling confidential patient information.

The position is full-time with a day shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM), located in Adena Pathology. Education requirements include an associate degree in a science-related field, with a preferred CLSI-accredited

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a science-related field.
• Preferred Bachelor's degree in CLSI-accredited Histotechnology program.
• Certification by Board of Registry of American Society of Clinical Pathology within 18 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue for microscopic examination according to established protocols.
• Process specimens by freezing and cutting tissue sections, staining or treating tissue as needed.
• Maintain solutions and reagents per established protocols and troubleshoot staining procedures.

Education

Associate Degree Major/Area of Concentration: science related field

Bachelor's Degree from a CLSI accredited Histotechnology program
