Job summary

Temple University Health System is seeking a Histology Technician for Temple Hospital. Performs technical and clerical histology functions, fixes, embeds, cuts and stains tissue for light microscopy with strict patient identification.

Day shift, full-time position. 1 year of histotechnician experience preferred; ASCP certification preferred. Works within Temple Health, affiliated with Temple University Hospital and a network of facilities in Philadelphia.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Lab Technology or related field required.
• 1 year experience as a Histotechnician preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all technical and clerical functions in the histology section according to established operating procedures.
• Accurately fixes, embeds, cuts and stains tissue for light microscopy.
• Insures accurate patient identification.
