Job summary

The Oregon Clinic is seeking a Histology Technician Coordinator for the GI West Clinic in SW Portland. This on-site role leads daily bench work in the Pathology Lab, partnering with physicians and staff to ensure accurate tissue processing and timely results.

You will train and supervise staff, coordinate workflow to meet volume and turnaround goals, and uphold CLIA and privacy standards while delivering patient-centered care and high-quality diagnostic support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a histology laboratory.
• ASCP Certification, or equivalency, as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
• Completed associate or bachelor’s degree in biological or laboratory science.
• Training consistent with CLIA 88 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead workflow and provide technical and supervision support.
• Train new and existing staff and monitor efficiency.
• Coordinate bench assignments and manage staffing to meet volume and turnaround goals.
• Maintain logs and QA tasks, escalations as needed.
• Prepare pathology specimens through all steps from accessioning to slide preparation.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment and procedures.
