Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Histology Technician/Histotechnologist for an evening shift at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. You will process tissue specimens, perform histology stains, and support pathologists with accurate preparation of samples for diagnosis.

Qualifications

• ASCP Certification eligible in Histology
• One year of experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or CLIA qualifications for Histotechnologist (HTL) or related

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, embed, and section tissue specimens using histology equipment (microtomes, cryostats)
• Perform routine and specialized staining procedures including histochemical and enzyme stains
• Mount, label, and distribute slides for pathologist review
• Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate repairs
• Prepare reagents, buffers, and solutions to support testing procedures
• Document patient and specimen data and maintain records
• Ensure cleanliness and QC of lab instruments and workspaces
• Assist training and serve as a resource for students and residents
• Perform immunohistochemical and in-situ hybridization procedures as applicable
