Stony Brook Medicine seeks a TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician I to serve as Lead Tech in histology, performing complex staining procedures with emphasis on immunohistochemistry and advancing quality and accuracy in diagnosis.

The role requires a BS degree, NYS license as a CLT/Technician or Histotechnician, and supervision experience. Strong knowledge of LIS systems and regulatory standards is essential for success.

Formación

• Bachelor level degree required in biology, medical technology, or related life science.
• New York State license/certification as CLT/Technician or Histo Technician required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform tissue staining procedures with emphasis on immunohistochemistry supervision.
• Stain, coverslip, label and assemble histologic sections and manage LIS systems (Copath, Ventana Benchmark, Ultra, HE600, Vantage).
• Provide supervision to staff and students, oversee QA and maintenance, and ensure compliance with CAP, NYSDOH and JCAHO regulations.
• Coordinate grossing coverage under pathologist supervision and participate in monthly quality meetings.

Educación

BS degree in Biology, Medical Technology or other life science

NYS License with certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Technician, or Certified Histological Technician
