The ideal candidate will supervise and mentor staff, manage staffing across shifts, and maintain QA records.

A BA/BS in a science field, HT(ASCP) certification, 1–3 years in a lead role, and 4–7 years in pathology are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science/health-related field required.
• 4–7 years in clinical laboratory experience with emphasis on anatomic pathology/histology.
• 1–3 years in a lead or supervisory role in anatomic pathology/histology.
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification required.
• Color vision testing is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Anatomic Pathology operations ensuring accurate testing and timely reporting.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor staff across all shifts.
• Maintain QA records, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process improvements.
• Provide regular coaching and feedback to direct reports.
• Assist with payroll, personnel records, and departmental administration.

Capital Choice Pathology LabIf you are a current Adventist HealthCare employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account.Adventist HealthCare's Capital Choice Pathology Lab seeks to hire an experienced Histology Supervisor for our Silver Spring, MD location who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.As a Histology Supervisor you will:• Oversee daily Anatomic Pathology Department operations, ensuring accurate testing, regulatory compliance, efficient workflow management, and timely reporting of laboratory results.• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel while monitoring daily workflow, ensuring adequate laboratory coverage and staffing across all shifts, as well as performing laboratory bench work, and escalating production issues as they arise.• Researches and resolves laboratory matters, drives continuous process and service improvements, ensures equipment compliance through Quality Control, methodologies, and maintains accurate Quality Assurance records and documentation.• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide constructive feedback and coaching for their professional development.• Ensures laboratory compliance with federal and state regulations, governing laws, organizational policies and procedures, manages employee payroll, personnel records, and performs administrative functions to support daily operations.Qualifications include:• Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in a science or a health science related field preferred.• 4-7 years of clinical laboratory experience with a focus on Anatomic Pathology/Histology.
