Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is actively seeking a Laboratory Technologist – Histology to join our Clinical Labs-Histology team in a full-time, day shift. The successful candidate will perform a variety of histology laboratory tests, analyze results, and contribute to diagnostic processes under supervision and established policies.

The role emphasizes quality control, timely processing of specimens, and effective communication with the laboratory team.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology including a clinical internship (or equivalent)
• One year supervised clinical laboratory experience in a related discipline
• Analytical skills necessary to analyze data and perform calculations.
• Basic computer skills and experience with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests in histology to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Analyze and interpret test results; repeat abnormal results and notify appropriate personnel.
• Maintain quality control, document actions, and troubleshoot instrumentation as needed.
• Coordinate specimen processing and, when required, perform phlebotomy and related duties.

Education

BS in Medical Technology with clinical internship

BS in related discipline with one year supervised clinical laboratory experience
