Job summary

IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Assistant in the Histology department to support tissue sample processing, data entry, and VM system maintenance. You will help sort, prepare, and track samples, ensuring quality and timely delivery to pathologists.

Training provided; prior histology experience is a plus. This full-time role offers day-one benefits. Weekly hours are Monday–Friday, with a daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with SOPs and safety/quality procedures preferred.
• Data entry experience and computer use preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Input sample information in the laboratory database.
• Stock benches with necessary materials for technicians.
• Operate or prep samples using special equipment as needed.
• Pack samples for storage and shipment.
• Ensure timely delivery of casework to remote pathologists.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VM systems for digital slide analysis.
• Organize and archive VM cases (pending/completed).
• Track VM system errors and assist with troubleshooting.
• Assist with various administrative tasks as required.
