Job summary

Tempus, a leader in precision medicine, seeks a Histotechnologist Supervisor to manage the histology lab on Saturdays in Chicago. You will oversee staff scheduling, quality control, and compliance, lead training and proficiency testing, and ensure rapid, accurate processing of samples with validated IHC workflows.

You will also audit LIMS daily, handle incident investigations, optimize antibodies, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to push the boundaries of cancer diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Histotechnology certification and 5+ years in the field, including cutting, staining, processing, embedding, and IHC validation.
• Strong communication and delegation skills with ability to lead a histology team.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate across disciplines, and maintain meticulous documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operational management of the histology/path lab and staff scheduling.
• Hiring, training, reviews, coaching, and corrective action for histology staff.
