Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Histology Supervisor to oversee specimen preparation and processing for pathology. You will ensure accurate sample identification, quality control, and ongoing staff coaching within a collaborative lab setting.

Responsibilities include managing daily operations, hiring/training staff, and driving improvements in service, quality, and regulatory compliance while working with pathologists.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of laboratory methods and pathology processes.
• Understanding of billing guidelines for histology services.
• Ability to produce high quality slides for interpretation.
• Knowledge of laboratory accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to supervise, teach and coach staff.
• Analytical mindset to interpret data and drive improvements.
• Strong problem solving and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day histology operations to meet standards.
• Execute staff hiring, orientation, training, and assignments.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Monitor staff conduct and output for quality goals.
• Drive department goals in service, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor expenses and propose resources for improvement.
• Develop workflows and corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with pathologists and care teams.
