Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Student Assistant Histo to support histology workflows in the VetMed-Pathology department. You will trim representative sections for lab accessions and help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Grossing Lab, Grinding Room, Histology Lab, and Archive room, ensuring smooth operations.

Ideal candidates bring strong customer service, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and good verbal/written communication.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, self-motivation and attention to detail.
• Verbal and written communication abilities; ability to work with diverse staff.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and assist in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Trimming representative sections of samples for IDL accessions.
• General cleanliness and upkeep of the grossing lab; tissue rotation and disposal; grinding room upkeep.
• General cleanliness and upkeep of the Histology Lab and Archive room.
• Other duties as assigned.
