Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with VetView and digital photography desirable.
• Attention to detail and ability to record/track cases.

Responsibilities

• Performs tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, routine staining and frozen sections.
• Maintains general upkeep and organization of the histology lab and supplies.
• Trims biopsy samples and records case information, including imaging.
• Manages equipment and preventive maintenance; troubleshoots minor issues.
• Acts as necropsy backup and handles hazardous materials per policy.
