Virtua Health is seeking a Lab Prep Assistant Per Diem in Histology to provide clerical and preparatory support. The role involves specimen matching, registration, and handling, with occasional cytology staining, under the supervision of the Histology department.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs, assisting with frozen sections and bone marrow staining, and processing send-outs. High school diploma required; compensation reflects per diem, part-time hours.

Responsabilidades

• Receive and match specimens with requisitions from multiple locations.
• Register and accession specimens while protecting patient confidentiality.
• Handle specimens with correct container and slide numbering; prepare cassettes and orders.
• Process cytology specimens when applicable, including staining.
• Maintain departmental logs and statistics.
• Assist with frozen sections and bone marrow specimens, including staining.
• Process send-out specimens and other duties as assigned.
