Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• 7 years of related experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field (preferred).
• 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred).
• CP-BC - Clinical Pathologist-Board Certified (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Oversees daily operations and supervision of technical staff in the laboratory, including training, scheduling, and performance feedback.
• Supervises bench testing for accuracy and reliability of results; analyzes testing information for efficiency.
• Maintains personnel records, anticipates staffing needs, and prepares work schedules for cost-effective resource use.
• Develops and maintains laboratory guidelines and QC/QA programs; ensures regulatory compliance with TJC, CAP, OSHA, DOH, and FDA.
• Oversees budget-related activities and assists in annual department budgeting.
• Consults with staff and physicians on technical studies; provides troubleshooting support.
• Instructs staff on procedures to improve efficiency and conformance to standards.
• Participates in ongoing QC and performance improvement efforts.
