Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Roanoke is seeking a Lab Assistant II in Histology to support preparation of histopathology samples. Typical shift is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, in Roanoke, VA. The role includes slide prep, labeling specimens, and routine lab duties under supervision.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in histology or a related lab, with experience handling PHI in an LIS and proficiency in MS Office. Benefits include medical coverage and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of histopathology or other laboratory experience.
• One (1) year of experience handling PHI and other patient information using an LIS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation under supervision.
• Label and prepare tissue specimens for dissection.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Handle cover slipping and H&E staining tasks.
• Prepare reagents for tissue processing and staining.
• Process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
