Job summary

Optima Dermatology is seeking a lab aide to support daily accessioning, cassette creation, and routine maintenance of the H&E stainer, tissue processor, and other equipment. You will ensure SOP and Quality Management compliance and assist with slide verification.

After probation, you may use the IT program to follow slides to the pathologist; participate in QC, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements under senior staff supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor of Science degree or Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily accessioning and cassette creation for cases received into lab.
• Daily maintenance of lab equipment (H&E stainer, tissue processor, and others).
• Ensure SOPs and Quality Management Systems are followed.
• Sign-out of daily cases including verification of stain quality.
• Ensure compliance with local, federal, and CLIA regulations and uphold company policies.
• Adhere to laboratory safety procedures and use proper lab practices.
• After probation, use IT program to follow slides until delivery to pathologist.
• Monitor histology processes and report discrepancies to senior staff.
• Participate in equipment QC and daily solution maintenance.
