Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Cincinnati, OH invites applicants for a Histotech / Grossing Trainee position (Mon-Fri, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM). Trainees will be trained either as grossing or histotechnician under direct supervision until able to work independently.

Qualifications

• Associates degree is required for the trainee program.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Current trainee state licensure, if applicable
• 1 year of histology and/or grossing experience

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and limited non-routine activities involved in slide preparation for microscopic evaluation by pathologists.
• Capable of performing all duties of a Histology Lab Assistant.
• Describe gross anatomic features of routine specimens and record measurements, weights, and findings.
• Prepare slides for Hematoxylin and Eosin staining and coverslipping under supervision.
