Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Manager to oversee Histology and Cytology operations in Jacksonville, FL. The role includes directing daily activities, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and service metrics.

The candidate will manage bench testing, staff development, and cross‑functional communication while maintaining a safe, compliant laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 5 years or more of experience as a Histotechnologist in a clinical diagnostics laboratory
• 5 years or more of supervisory experience managing several direct reports
• Florida Histology Supervisor License

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operational activities of the Histology and Cytology departments, both the technical and non-technical operations
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff and ensure staffing coverage
• Perform bench-level laboratory testing as needed to support workflow and troubleshoot issues
• Ensure the laboratory provides market leading service levels and meets TAT metrics
• Ensure laboratory compliance with CAP, CLIA, State, ISO and other regulatory requirements
• Manage staff including recruiting, hiring, and performance management
• Communicate effectively with leadership, clients, and department staff
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
