Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Histology - Cytology Assistant to support pathology work at Lima Medical Office Building. You will prepare specimens, register orders, and verify sample quality while performing phlebotomy and basic lab procedures.

The role requires strong attention to detail, professional patient interaction, and collaboration with histology and Cytology teams at multiple off-site locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in laboratory settings or phlebotomy preferred.
• Ability to handle specimens and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Register and accession orders; verify specimen acceptability.
• Perform pre-analytical/analytical lab procedures and phlebotomy.
• Assist technologists with loading instruments and preparing reagents.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support inventory management.
• Provide courteous service to patients and staff.
