Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, Inc. in Tulsa, OK is seeking an entry-level Histology Assistant to organize and manage pathology specimens, slides, and blocks, and to assist with frozen sections under supervision.

You will maintain histology equipment, support pathologists, and ensure accurate documentation while providing courteous service to patients and staff in a fast-paced laboratory setting. A high school diploma or GED is required; prior lab exposure or coursework is helpful.

• Handles supplies and reagents in the prescribed manner.
• Organizes and maintains pathology documentation including specimen logs, send-out testing, and legal requests.
• Screens, receive and direct telephone calls.

This position is ECB status - requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.

Job Summary:

Organizes, maintains and stores pathology specimens, slides and blocks, prepares frozen sections, maintains histology equipment, maintains the morgue, disposes of chemical and biological waste, and performs pathology secretarial duties.

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

0 - 6 months related work or educational experience.
