HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services is seeking a histology apprentice to learn and perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation under pathologist supervision.

The role emphasizes precise work, adherence to safety protocols, and ongoing learning within a full-service clinical laboratory network. Education is a High School Diploma or higher; pathology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher.

Responsibilities

• Embeds tissue specimens in paraffin blocks.
• Cuts quality sections using a microtome.
• Prepares, stains, and coverslips microscopic slides for examination by the pathologist.
• Performs special stains on tissue specimens as directed by the pathologist.
• Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.
• Performs Quality Control procedures consistent with CAP requirements.
