Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics Laboratory is seeking a leader to oversee clinical laboratory sections within the Diagnostic Laboratories. You will direct supervisors, integrate clinical activities and drive quality, while managing staff and budgets to support life-saving transplant care.

Qualifications

• Clinical expertise in patient care including assessment and treatment.
• Ability to develop and monitor quality measures and performance standards.
• Experience in budgeting, staffing and implementing process improvements.
• Strong leadership to coach subordinates and handle conflicts professionally.
• Ability to forecast resource needs and schedule activities across a lab unit.
• Knowledge of compliance principles and maintaining regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and coordinates programs and actions within areas of responsibility; has overall fiscal accountability for sections(s).
• Develops work goals and objectives based on interpretation of organization plans and forecasts; plans to achieve goals or establish priorities through appropriate budgeting and program development.
• Monitors payroll reports for overtime and FlexPTO as will as conducts performance appraisals.
