Job summary

Educational Data Systems, Inc. (EDSI) is seeking a YouthBuild Education Teacher to deliver academic instruction and case management for HiSET-focused participants.

You will mentor students, monitor progress, and coordinate with YouthBuild staff to aid transitions into employment, apprenticeships, or further education. The role emphasizes collaboration, individualized support, and adherence to program policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Workforce Development, or related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered
• Experience in education, tutoring, case management, mentoring, coaching, or youth development
• HiSET/GED, Adult Basic Education, alternative education, or workforce development experience preferred
• Strong classroom management, communication, relationship-building, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and develop positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction and individualized academic support in Mathematics, Reading/Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and other subjects required for HiSET completion
• Assess academic skills, develop individualized education plans, and provide instruction that accommodates multiple levels and learning styles
• Prepare participants for HiSET testing and monitor progress, testing, attendance, and credential attainment
• Maintain an assigned caseload and provide ongoing case management, mentoring, coaching, and participant support
• Conduct one-on-one meetings to review academic progress, barriers, personal development, and goals
• Collaborate with YouthBuild staff to support transitions into employment, apprenticeships, and postsecondary education
