Job summary

EDSI seeks a YouthBuild Education Teacher to deliver academic instruction and individualized support to participants pursuing their HiSET credential and career goals. You will assess needs, monitor progress, and maintain a caseload while collaborating with staff to remove barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Workforce Development, or related field preferred.
• Experience in education, tutoring, case management, mentoring, coaching, or youth development.
• HiSET/GED, Adult Basic Education, or workforce development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction and individualized academic support in Mathematics, Reading/Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and other subjects required for HiSET completion.
• Assess academic skills, develop individualized education plans, and provide instruction accommodating multiple levels.
• Prepare participants for HiSET testing and monitor progress, attendance, and credential attainment.
• Maintain an assigned caseload and provide ongoing case management, mentoring, coaching, and support.
• Collaborate with YouthBuild staff to support transitions into employment or further training.
