Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking registered nurses for our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) across the Sarasota main campus. The role requires critical care experience, excellent communication, and the ability to make independent decisions while caring for patients recovering from anesthesia.

We treat patients from ambulatory to critically ill, across all ages. Shifts are 11a-23:30p, FT/ 3 12's.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or diploma program.
• One year experience in PACU, ER, or ICU.
• PALS within one year of hire.
• Proficient with basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to PACU patients and families.
• Care for patients recovering from anesthesia in a high-acuity setting.
• Collaborate with team to ensure safe and efficient patient recovery.

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Staffing three Post Anesthesia Care Units located at the main Sarasota campus. PACU is a high acuity, fast paced department recovering over 100 surgeries a day. We are looking for nurses with critical care experience, great communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions while caring for patients who are recovering from anesthesia. We recovery patients of all ages, surgeries ranging from ambulatory surgery to critically ill patients.

Must have one year experience in in-patient PACU, ER, or ICU.

Shifts are: 11a-23:30p, FT/ 3 12's

Salary Details

Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $35.10, max of salary range is $54.10. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.

Required Qualifications

• Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Require previous PACU, ER, or ICU experience.
• Require Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one (1) year of hire.
• Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

BSN: Bachelor of Science Nursing

• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
• FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
