Job summary

Student Transportation of America is hiring a part-time school bus driver in Jacksonville, FL. Schedule: Monday–Friday with a daily route and field trip opportunities. CDL Class A or B with Passenger, School Bus and Air Brake endorsements is required, along with a minimum 5 years driving history.

Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $27.35 per hour, with a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000 for experienced CDL holders. Benefits include a safety-focused environment and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be fully licensed with CDL Class A or B and endorsements for Passenger, School Bus and Air Brake.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Minimum 5 years verifiable driving history.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a CDL.
• Pre-employment background checks apply.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus route, picking up and dropping off students at established stops.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for safety.
• Attend monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain a clean bus and professional appearance.
• Drive students on field trips, activity trips and charter runs as requested.

Pay Range: $21.00- $27.35 ($21.00 for new hires)

*Sign-on Bonus of up to $3,000 for experienced drivers (Fully licensed CDL holders with P&S endorsement)

*CDL License or Permit holders with S&P Endorsements is a plus!

Responsibilities:

• Drive a school bus route - picking up and dropping off student passengers at established stops on the route.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings.
• Clean bus as necessary to maintain a professional appearance and positive company image.
• As requested or desired to drive students on field trips, activity trips and charter runs to transport students and other passengers to and from their destinations.

Qualifications:

• Must be fully licensed. Must hold a CDL Class A or B license and be fully endorsed with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake endorsements.
• Must be 21 years or older
• Must have a minimum of 5 years verifiable driving history
• Ability and willingness to obtain a CDL
