Our second Miku location in North America - boosts a minimalist, sophisticated atmosphere while bringing Japanese flavours and techniques with local ingredients to create a truly innovative dining experience.

Job Description

Miku Toronto is looking to grow our team with passionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Reporting to the Chef de cuisine, prepares, and creates innovative and signature sushi dishes served at Miku.

Responsibilities

Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
Responsible for ensuring food and safety protocol is met
Stock and maintain sufficient levels of prep at all times to ensure a smooth service flow
Ensuring quality checks of dishes are up to restaurant standard
Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation including the line station, preparation area and refrigeration equipment
Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional work environment
Washings trays, containers and appliances as needed
Helping other station while its operation is needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum 2-year sauté and grill side experience
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Experience in Japanese cuisine is an asset but not required
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
A passion for Japanese and Asian culinary art and flavors
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

The menu focuses on Aburi Sushi as well as fresh seafood, respecting the natural flavours of the ingredients while adding a signature Aburi twist. Japanese and European inspired desserts made in house by our pastry team create the perfect ending to the culinary experience.

Miku Toronto’s large beverage program includes signature cocktails, wines, and an extensive sake list. The knowledgeable staff is always happy to make suggestions on pairings that will please your palate.
