Qualifications

• Drivers license and reliable transportation required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA laws and medical records policies.
• Ability to read instructions, write memos, and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records per HIPAA.
• Maintain paper and electronic medical records for all consumers.
• Scan/index records into electronic system and back file monthly/annually.
• Assist with authorization to release records forms.
• Field calls regarding medical records.
• Collect mail for records requests and document disclosures per policy.
• Respond to information requests within agency timelines.
• Provide staff training on authorization and scanning processes.
• Conduct weekly record review checks and keep department files up to date.
• Support destruction of records and inventory management per policy.
