Qualifications

• One year post-high school education in medical records or equivalent working knowledge
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge in medical records
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats
• Ability to multitask and organize/prioritize work
• Strong technical skills with software applications and databases
• Proficient in accessing and using EHR systems

Responsibilities

• Release of health information in accordance with policy and laws
• Analyze health information using EMR tools for provider completion and deficiencies
• Provide customer service to patients, vendors, providers, and staff
• Perform document imaging: scanning, quality control, and validation
• Review scanned documents to maintain EMR integrity
• Assist with transcription issues and portal enrollment
• Support leadership with duties as assigned by HIMS leadership
