Job summary

Responsibilities

• ANALYSIS - Complete chart analysis of discharged records and review H&Ps, Operative Reports, and Discharge Summaries to meet CMS/TJC requirements.
• QUALITY - Ensure documentation accuracy within scanning operation and report problems.
• INFORMATION REQUESTS - Process requests for protected health information per policy and regulatory rules.
• DATA – Retrieve necessary data from electronic medical records for disclosures.
• RECORDS - Create and maintain daily records of work performed.
• CUSTOMER SERVICE - Respond to special requests and assist patients in completing forms and locating documents.
• COMMUNICATION – Answer front desk calls and provide coverage for walk-in patients related to ROI, Patient Portal, and HIM matters.
• CONFIDENTIALITY – Maintain medical records confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Adhere to institutional policies for medical records administration.
• TIMELINESS - Complete all requests and scanning tasks within timeliness standards.
