Job summary

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho seeks an HIM Technician Specialist to maintain paper and electronic records with accuracy. You will analyze charts, scan and index records in the EMR, and manage release of information while ensuring HIPAA and regulatory compliance.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume setting are essential. You will support physicians, participate in audits and improvements, and collaborate with the HIM team to uphold data

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; secondary schooling or equivalent.
• Postsecondary medical terminology training preferred.
• 3+ years in Health Information Management required.
• 1+ years in chart analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain paper and electronic health records with accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform chart analysis and reconcile with discharge/records standards.
• Scan, index, and quality-check medical records in the EMR.
• Process requests for patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Support physicians with record completion and audits.
• Contribute to department meetings and quality initiatives.
