Job summary

Responsibilities include supporting HIM-hosted audits, assisting department operations, and collaborating on special projects under guidance. A strong HIM background and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• AA degree in health information management or 1 year HIM experience.
• Strong computer skills and ONBASE familiarity.
• Analytical ability to identify deficiencies and troubleshoot.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with physicians and patients.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical HIM duties: chart reconciliation of discharged records regularly.
• Preps, scans and indexes records to ensure quality legal records in SCM and ONBASE.
• Provides technical support to assure record quality for compliance and legal purposes.
• Assists with HIM-hosted audits and other record-based audits under supervision.
• Supports department operations and special projects with HIM Technician guidance.
• Demonstrates knowledge of ONBASE and Sunrise EMR and system interactions with MPI (GE).
